3 SEASONS AS AN

ERASMUS STUDENT

Buddy system

Before starting the school, I was in contact with home student from the campus thanks to the “buddy system” organised by the Exchange Student Network (ESN) of Olten. Indeed, the university was allocating a buddy who is willing to pick you up at the airport or train station, show you the way to your accommodation and explain how everything works in Switzerland. Moreover, the buddy will support you during your exchange period at our university. They are also on call to help you find your way around the school, classes and life here in general.

The buddy's main tasks are to help exchange students during their stay in Switzerland as well as to adapt to the Swiss culture, student life and studying at the FHNW.

Multicultural experience

As well as at university as at my student lodge, I am with students who come from all around the world: China, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand, Colombia, Ecuador, USA, Canada, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Lithuania, Italy, England, Spain, Belgium and France.

Living a year as an Erasmus student is:

  1. To discover new culture

  2. To share unforgettable experiences

  3. To improve your level of speaking

Student networks

Be active. Follow the ESN Olten. In addition to allocate a buddy, the ESN Olten also organises various events and excursions. In the winter they usually prepare a ski trip, they often organise visits to interesting cities or places, and parties.  â€‹
