A MODERN UNIVERSITY

When I went into university for the first time, I was very surprised by the architecture of the university. Indeed, the building is very modern everything is made of glass, or steel in black, grey or white. I had the feeling to enter into a design store where everything is clean and organized. The classrooms are also very contemporary and they are equipped with modern technology (overhead projector, plug socket for laptop...).

Moreover, the campus is quite big compared to what I was used to it France. I can have class in 3 different buildings.

During or after school some lecture rooms are available to work in group or you can also work at the library until 6pm. Most of the books in the library are in German but you can find books that are mandatory for some courses. The only problem is that there are not enough books for everyone. You have to hurry and go ASAP at the library if you want to borrow one of them.

GENERAL TIPS FOR UNIVERSITY

  • You will have the opportunity to share your knowledge about your home institution, city and country through cultural activities organized by the FHNW. As an international student, you will represent your home university. Share your knowledge about your culture and make the choice for future outgoing student a little bit easier.

  • Scan your passport and travel documents and e-mail them to yourself. That way, if your documents are lost or stolen you can easily access copies from e-mail. Give your contact information to people at home who may need to get in touch with you.

  • Check your FHNW mail account on regular basis. You are responsible to stay informed.
